The Andira is the boot for the days the forecast wins. Quilted black nylon, water repellent and light, built in padded panels like a good down jacket, over smooth black leather at the toe and heel where the wet actually reaches. Underneath, a thick white rubber platform sole that lifts the foot clear of slush and puddles.

Inside, the boot is lined in soft black fleece all the way through, which is what makes it genuinely warm rather than warm-looking. A drawstring at the top pulls the shaft closed around the leg so snow and rain stay out, and the toggle holds it wherever you set it.

The white sole is the reason this boot reads as a design object rather than as equipment. It gives the black upper a clean line and keeps the whole thing looking deliberate with a wool coat, straight denim or a padded skirt. It is the pair you leave by the door from November to March.

Made on a French last, with a fine, precise cut. This style is true to size. Order your usual size.

One thing specific to this boot: the fleece lining takes up volume, so wear it with a normal sock rather than a thick one, and it will fit as expected. If you already know you want it over heavy winter socks, take the size above. The drawstring adjusts the shaft, so a fuller calf is not a problem here. If you are unsure, write to us at info@mangara.be before you order. It is faster than a return.

Designed and signed by Patricia Cossettin, produced in small runs.

The Andira is the boot for the days the forecast wins.
